ACRM President
ACRM is returning to the Hilton Anatole in Dallas, Texas for the ACRM 101st Annual Fall Conference. This year’s CORE conference event will take place from 31 October – 3 November 2024, preceded by two full days and a half day of PRE-CONFERENCE courses from 29 – 31 October.
I encourage you all to join rehabilitation professionals and community members from around the globe in the diverse and exciting city of Dallas for #ACRM2024, the largest interdisciplinary rehabilitation research conference in the world! I am especially looking forward to this year’s conference, and I hope to see you there.
Great minds come together at the ACRM Annual Fall Conference, the place to fuel creative energy, promote innovation and spark collaboration — the kind of collaboration needed to help bring the latest science into practice — faster. If you are coming to ACRM for the first time, welcome to the family! If you are returning to the Conference, welcome home.
ACRM is about the research and the mix of disciplines and professions. This blend is exclusive to ACRM and is one of the critical ways that — all together — our work improves the lives of those with disabling conditions through interdisciplinary research.
To improve patient care, we need the science from the researchers and to inform and improve the research, we need feedback from the clinicians. ACRM is at the intersection of this essential feedback loop, and this is where you come in. YOU are essential to the discussions and collaborations to help move the field forward.
Your expertise is very important. With a multitude of interprofessional groups at ACRM, including community groups, committees and task forces, we know there are ample opportunities for networking and collaborating to achieve your goals.
There has been a lot of activity since we last met, and we are excited and ready to share with you the notable improvements. Program Committee and staff have been working to implement exciting enhancements to improve the conference program in the areas of accessibility, inclusivity and recognition.
As we work to improve accessibility in our association, ACRM has worked with presenters on new presentation layouts, worked with the Hilton Anatole on better signage opportunities, and more. ACRM is dedicated to refining the accessibility of the conference and being the most welcoming event in rehabilitation medicine so the cutting-edge research is available to all.
ACRM has greatly expanded the ACRM Rehab Expo Night – that’s free and open to the public. This event will now feature a local artist as well as Fireside Chats that connect the public to on-site rehabilitation professionals and experts in their fields, as well as access to the exhibitors who bring the most up-to-date opportunities to learn about rehabilitation technology and medicine.
In addition to these notable improvements, ACRM is debuting a new Equity and Health Research Award and presentation to highlight and honor the incredible work of ACRM members who embrace ACRM’s mission of improving lives and supporting the field of physical medicine and rehabilitation. This award comes in addition to the extensive prestigious ACRM awards, ACRM community group awards, fellows and more.
We can’t wait for you to experience these program enhancements. You may also enjoy our expansive educational program with many new and traditional topic areas and meet our top-caliber powerhouse presenters at our many networking events. This conference is one you will not want to miss!

ACRM would not be the organization it is without its members. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to represent the community in this leadership position. I am honored and grateful for the memories gained during my time as president over the past five years. As I pass the presidential necklace to the incoming president, Fofi Constantinidou, PhD, CCC-SLP, CBIS, FACRM, FASHA, at the conclusion of this year’s Annual Fall Conference. I join previous past presidents in watching ACRM continue to grow and develop while supporting the hardworking members who are the foundation of this organization. I would like to reiterate my immense appreciation for the connections, collaborations, and community that ACRM has provided me with during my tenure as president.
